One of the main goals of Philadelphia Emerging Museum Professionals is to help other EMPs achieve their career goals. At our January Jumpstart event, you asked us for assistance with your resumes, and we listened. On Sunday, May 5 at 2PM, the Franklin Institute will be host to our first Hire Learning workshop.
This workshop will feature a panel of four museum professionals who have significant hiring experience in different departments. The panelists will discuss what traits they look for in a resume, and provide examples of both good and poor resumes. From there, attendees will break into smaller groups with the panelists to discuss resumes more in depth and, time permitting, review their own resume with a panelist.
Panelists include Kerry Sautner, Vice President of Visitor Experience and Education at National Constitution Center; Mary Trishman, Assistant Director of Development Operations and Research at The Franklin Institute; Shelley Langdale, Associate Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Philadelphia Museum of Art; and Patrick Wittwer, Manager of Visitor Services at Please Touch Museum. These panelists bring a tremendous amount of hiring experience to the table and will be able to provide attendees with a great deal of resume crafting tips.
Bring your resume to the Franklin Institute on Sunday, May 5th at 2PM for Hire Learning, and we will see you there!
