Summer Internships at the Stoogeum

The Stoogeum, the world’s first and largest museum dedicated to the Three Stooges, is seeking museum interns for the summer. Interns will work with two full-time collections-focused staff members who pull double duty on the visitor services end of the museum. The Stoogeum is open to the public on Thursdays and select Saturdays (excluding holidays) throughout the summer. Occasional group visits can be scheduled during other days as well. Interns will be expected to assist the staff with visitor services and research needs for approximately 10 hours a week. With such a small time commitment, this unpaid position is a fantastic way to boost your resume without interfering too much with your current job schedule. Summer 2015 Museum Interns

The Stoogeum is the world’s first and only museum of Three Stooges memorabilia. The museum is dedicated to the careers, personal lives, and fan community of the famed comedy group. The 10,000 square-foot, 3-story building houses Stooge
related artifacts dating back to 1918.
The Stoogeum is seeking Museum Interns to assist Stoogeum staff with visitor services operations and research needs approximately 10 hours a week. Availability on Thursday mornings and afternoons is essential. Some weekend and evening availability maybe required, but will be mutually agreed upon on hire. Interns will become knowledgeable about the museum’s collection in order to effectively interact with guests.
Duties include but are not limited to overseeing the admissions desk during operating hours, handling gift shop and membership transactions, and monitoring the galleries. Applicants will be friendly, responsible and organized. Applicants should be comfortable with public speaking, handling cash, and maneuvering throughout the galleries.This is ideal for individuals interested in learning about small history museum operations.
The positions are unpaid. Public transportation is not easily accessible from the Stoogeum so applicants should be able to provide their own transportation.
